Ground rules for this blog

Moderation

The blog is written by the British Council’s International Climate Champions for other young people concerned about how the climate story is being communicated.

Climate Change is a topical issue which may trigger strong feelings and opinions some of which you will not agree with. Whilst it is our aim to allow free and open discussion on this site, we must aim to do so whilst offending as few people as possible. Be respectful of other people’s opinions even if they are not the same as your own.  We have a no tolerance policy of personal abuse, so please, don’t pick on each other.

How this site is moderated

This blog uses a pre-moderation process meaning that all posts and comments are approved by the community manager before they are published.

Material submitted will be posted as close as possible to the original text. However, the British Council reserves the right edit text or graphics in order to eliminate any breaches of etiquette and will refuse publication where materials are deemed unsuitable.

Please keep spelling and grammar as accurate as possible. However, please also keep in mind that English may be a second or third language for many of those using the site and forgive minor typos/errors. In cases where it is felt that the message of the actual post is lost due to such errors the British Council reserves the right to edit for the sake of clarity, but will contact the individual to confirm changes first.

It is in the interests of all participants to maintain a harmonious community. Please read and follow these ground rules and inform the moderator if you feel that any posts which do not adhere to them have been missed in moderation. The moderator can be contacted at Sarah-Jane.Judge@britishcouncil.org

Moderation Policy

What to do if your post is moderated
If your post is refused, the moderator will contact you, and where appropriate will suggest the changes required to make the item publishable.

If your post has been edited by the moderator in a way that you would prefer the post to be withdrawn, please send a request to this effect to Sarah-Jane.Judge@britishcouncil.org

If after publication, substantial complaints are made about a post, the British Council reserves the right to delete it. As with post refusals, the moderator will aim to inform you of this and suggest changes to allow it to be reposted. If your post is deleted please do not attempt to post the same items again without editing, or abuse the moderator for removing your post or abuse other users of the site for reporting you.
