Welcome to the ELT Online Community
Welcome to the English Language Teaching Online Community. This space is for you, Brazilian teachers who would like to interact with other professionals.
The Community was officially launched in September 2004, and since then we have been publishing reports, stories, poems, downloadable resources and other items of interest to English teachers.
Julian Wing was its creator and now it is my responsibility and pleasure to take it from here, updating the content and bringing new features to it, as well as encouraging more and more teachers to join in.
Teachers are welcome to send lesson plans and ideas to be shared with others, and mainly to participate in the forum discussions, where you can find a wide variety of topics, including a "Teachers´ Helpline".
We would love to have you with us sharing opinions, sending stories and promoting events in the calendar section. Hope to see you around the community.
All the best,
Roberta Guimarães ELT Projects Officer elt.community@britishcouncil.org.br
Community Members` Feedback
"I spent the last hour or so browsing the ELT Community site and was amazed at what I saw. Congratulations! This is something very nice for all teachers."
"I must say that the site IS SO interesting and informative. Sth EACH & EVRY ELT teacher should see!"
"I`m a public secondary school teacher, and I`ve been studying the ETP units. I think this is a great initiative to help teachers like me who have little time and money to enroll in a course to brush up our English. The lessons are carefully planned and designed, and the audio files are of good quality."
"This community is a chance for us to keep in contact with the language and some of the latest issues concerning English teaching. I`m glad to know there are people out there who share the same interests and are taking the initiative to help those who have to strive in order not to fossilise completely in the language. Thanks Julian and all of you involved in the operation and maintenance of this online community. Keep up the excellent work!"
