Thiago always tries to make me run. Sometimes I run with him but I prefer walking. We enjoy having long lunches with friends. Later, I have to start thinking about work again; marking homework and preparing for Monday. In the evening we normally collapse in front of 'Fantastico' on TV. You can add -ly to adjectives to make them adverbs. bad/badly, slow/slowly Not all words that end in -ly are adverbs. friendly and lovely are adjectives. Thanks, you're a *star. * a star = someone who does something very good or helpful. 10D.6 Some oral homework suggestions you could make: . you can, choose and use a workbook with speaking and pronunciation exercises and a cassette or a CD. . Tell students to test a friend at home, e.g. they take turns asking and answering How do you say (X) in English? from their vocabulary notebooks. . Tell them to prepare 10 answers to 10 questions which you will ask them next lesson as an oral test. . Mark the stress on a page of words in their vocabulary notebooks (and perhaps check in a dictionary). . Looking for 3 or 4 examples of words listed in their vocabulary notebooks which contain a particular sound, e.g. .. Teach your parents (e.g. a song, chant, rhyme or tongue twister), then tell the class what it's like being a teacher. . Phone a friend and practise a dialogue. . When you see some tourist, try to listen to what they are saying and, perhaps try to help them visit your town. . Teach learning techniques and games that students can use and play outside class, and set them for homework. NB: The key to teaching speaking is to include it in your evaluation/test.
