In Section E you review and revise the key language of every Unit. You practise error correction, pronunciation, prepositions, functional language and question formation. Count your correct answers after each section and give yourself a score for each exercise.

Study Tip

You can also use Section E before you start any Unit as a 'diagnostic test'.
. Do the exercises and, if you find it very easy, perhaps you can jump this Unit. But, if you do this, make sure you
- listen to Sections A, B and D so you can follow the 'story'
- at least do the pronunciation exercises
- check you can say all the words in Section C
. Don't forget that the objective of the course is to practise listening, speaking and pronunciation. So, what looks easy on paper, may be more difficult when you listen without the text or try to produce it well.

This exercise reviews the key phrases from the monologues (Section A) and the dialogues (Section D). These are the English Teacher's Portfolio 'functional syllabus'. Together with the Vocabulary Builders (Section B), these form the basis of your final face-to-face test.

. Translate the ones that you aren't sure of in pencil.
. Check your answers in the Key.
. Memorise them by testing yourself. Cover one column and remember the phrase in the other language.
. When you're happy you know them, erase the Portuguese here.
