I love having a birthday in the summer because we're always on holiday at that time. I'm an English teacher and I work at Nossa Senhora secondary school in Rio. I've been there for about 5 years. Professional Tip:
. Words for free! There are a lot of words that are virtually the same in English and Portuguese (cognates). A few are false friends, e.g. sensitive/sensible, but many keep the same meaning. You just need to be careful with pronunciation - hence this exercise.
. Teach and highlight as many useful ones as you can to your students. It's a great way for them to increase their vocabulary with very little work.
