Verbs go, play and do
In 9C you practice collocates of the verbs go, play and do. You also revise tenses.

Print out the picture dictionary. Look at the go pictures. Match the pictures with the verbs. Listen and say the correct picture letter, A to K.

9 Revision. Look at the pictures and, in a minute, say what all the people were doing yesterday at 8 pm.
The woman in Picture T was doing aerobics.

Professional Tip

. Pictures are a teacher's best friend! Notice how in Exercises # 5 and 9, just by changing the time you can use any picture to practise any tense.
. Remember too that the more pictures (and other visual aids like realia, posters and board drawings) that you use when you teach the less your students will have to depend on translation.



10 Complete with the correct verb play, go or do.
Last year I ______a lot of sport and my wife _____a lot of exercise too. I _____football once a week and ______ swimming. My wife _____ judo and ______ golf. She said she preferred ______ judo and gave up ______ golf this year. I don't know what she's going to do with all the equipment and clothes she bought. There's so much of it.
