Inspired by the British Season for Change program, which highlighted the creative strength of artists from the UK during COP26 in Glasgow, the Art for Climate project is born with a mission: to connect artistic expression and climate action.

Arts, heritage, and creative industries have the potential to inspire change, connect communities, and transform realities. To accomplish all this, this partnership between the British organization Julie’s Bicycle (JB) and the People’s Palace Projects (PPPbr) commissions three artists from territories directly affected by the climate crisis, representing three Brazilian biomes. Each of them will create original works that reflect their environmental commitments and mobilize local actions towards COP30 climate summit.

The initiative includes exchanges, mentorships, and collaborations between Brazilian artists and participants of Season for Change, strengthening an international network of creators engaged with climate justice, inclusion, and social impact. In addition to empowering artists to face environmental challenges with innovative approaches, the project also works on mobilizing their communities and articulates with the global campaign UN Climate Change, that advocates to include culture in climate policies.

*Art for the climate was selected through the UK-Brazil Season of Culture open call.
