The project, led by Sesc São Paulo, fosters artistic connections and knowledge-sharing collaborations between Brazil and the United Kingdom, expanding the concept of culture as an expression of diverse ways of being, coexisting, and manifesting. Planned activities include creative workshops (Speed Game Making), jazz concerts, a performance at the Sesc Dance Biennial (the solo Enowate by Dickson Mbi), and an exchange with the British festival DaDaFest.
Highlights include:
Bryony Jarman-Pinto
The Lancaster-based singer, songwriter, and musician –nominated for the Jazz FM Awards – brings a sound that blends soul, folk, and jazz, featuring captivating vocals, sophisticated arrangements, and intimate lyrics. A standout on BBC stations, she has recorded live sessions for Gilles Peterson, Jo Whiley, and Jazz FM, and performed on prestigious stages such as the Jazz Café and the Manchester and Lancaster jazz festivals. Her performance is part of the Sesc Jazz 2025 lineup in October, a festival that celebrates jazz in dialogue with contemporary music, bringing together national and international artists.
Collaboration with DaDaFest
In partnership with the renowned British organization dedicated to art created by people with disabilities, Sesc will promote inclusive initiatives in two phases: the first is an online meeting in December 2025, bringing together artists, producers, and educators from Brazil and the UK to discuss experiences in accessible cultural management, with resources such as interpretation in Libras and BSL, simultaneous translation, subtitles, and audio description. The second phase takes place in June 2026, featuring a live performance from DaDaFest 2025 at Sesc venues, also accessible with audio description, Libras interpretation, and Portuguese subtitles.
The Sound Voice Project
Created by British composer Hannah Conway, The Sound Voice Project is an immersive installation that weaves together art and science to tell the stories of people who have lost their voice. Featuring three audiovisual pieces –Tanja, Paul, and I Left My Voice Behind – the work invites audiences to reflect on identity, listening, and transformation. Award-winning and internationally presented, it will be showcased at Sesc in the first half of 2026, offering a sensorial and poetic experience that amplifies silenced voices and reimagines the act of communication.
