The publication "5 inspirations for School Leaders on STEM Education" is the result of a study designed by the British Council and carried out by FLACSO (Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences).

It is an awareness-raising and inspirational publication aimed at highlighting how School Leaders can support teachers and initiatives in their community for an education focused on teaching science and its technologies.

What does the material offer? 

Based on a process of listening to the experiences of school managers, teachers and students, the publication compiles five approaches for innovative and stimulating teaching of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas that can be replicated in other schools with a commitment to incorporate equity and inclusion of under-represented groups, such as girls, black girls, and people with disabilities.

What is the importance of innovation in teaching STEM?

Educational professionals face the challenges of reinventing, updating themselves and facilitating access to quality and inclusive education. To awaken the investigative side of children in STEM teaching, professionals can use strategies in classrooms that stimulates the interest of students.

For this, innovation is necessary in order to lead the search for the production and acquire of knowledge, in addition to broadening the scope of science and the students' future opportunities.
