Learning Sectors – Acelerando no circuito da aprendizagem is back and even better!

SPRINT - Learning Sectors is an educational challenge that unites Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with the adrenaline of Formula 1®. Promoted by the British Council with support from Formula 1®, the program encourages state school students to solve real problems in their school communities using creativity, teamwork and innovation.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core principles of SPRINT - Learning Sectors. The challenge seeks to expand the access of historically underrepresented groups to the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and encourages proposals that also dialogue with the sustainability of the school community.

Building on our exciting first year, which reached more than 150,000 students in more than 700 schools around the world, the program promotes a computational thinking competition in Brazil to tackle real STEM challenges and develop practical communication skills!

Students and educators from the following categories may participate in the program:

  • National Category:  Students and educators from all areas of knowledge from state schools throughout the Brazilian territory, from 8th and 9th Years of Elementary School.
  • Centro Paula Souza Category:  Students who, by the end of 2026, are under 18 years old and are in the 1st or 2nd year of Secondary school from Centro Paula Souza network, as well as its educators from all areas of knowledge.

To participate in the program, students and educators identify a problem in their school community and propose a way to solve it. During the challenge, the selected teams participate in an online workshop where they will learn methods to turn their projects into an action plan using STEM skills to face a real challenge and promote positive change. Participation in the challenge is free.

The challenge takes place in two stages. The teams will compete by developing creative solutions to real issues in the school community. The winning project will gain a unique behind-the-scenes experience at the São Paulo Grand Prix in 2026, with all expenses paid.
